I bought a used Gibson Front Load washer, model # GTF1040AS0 and serial # XC30920238. I have two questions. First, can you tell me the cubic feet rating on this washer? I have the owners manual but I didn't see it in there anywhere. Second, the pump makes a little more noise than I would expect it to make. It pumps out the water and then keeps running as the load spins. It just makes a loud humming and vibrating noise. It seems to work fine. Should I be concerned or is this model or front loaders in general a little loud as far as the pump is concerned? Thanks.

The information that I have is they are 3.5 cubic feet in size. As for the pump noise, if you are just hearing the vibration noise, it should be OK. The pump runs most of the spin cycle and can be loud when cavitating. But since you bought it used, you may want to remove the lower access panel and pull the sump from the drain pump just to make sure nothing is stuck in there like change. The sump is a rubber hose held in place with a spring clamp. Have a towel handy when you remove it as water will come out. Remove anything that may be in there and see if that helps.

I use a shop vac when removing hoses to the pump that way no mess at all.
