I have a hotpoint model hsm25gfresa and it does not cool like it should freezer any where from 30 to 40 and the fridge middle shelf about 50 I have checked the coils they get about half way frosted up and then the heater turns on about every 6 hours? the condensor fan runs as well as the evep fan the only time they shut off is when the heater turns on I am out of ideas any help would be greatly appreciated

If your evaporator coil inside your freezer is only getting half way frosted and the other half is dry, thats a sign you have a compressor problem or a leak in the sealed sytem.

check it out with a leak detector if you can
I like to stick the sniffer in the freezer section when the door hasn't been opened for a while to help find the smallest leaks. you might have to take off the back panel
