Amana ADB2500AWB Dishwasher heater won't shut off. After the dishwasher completes it's cycle the heater is still on. It doesn't make any difference if the heat option switch is in the on or off position. Any suggestions , has anyone else had this problem?

Thats kinda unusual for dishwasher element to do that, but it sounds like its grounding to the dishwasher frame underneath causing a always on condition.
When you open your door, does it turn off? or removing power to the dishwasher altogether turns it off?

The heater shuts off when the door is opened,I was wondering if the problem might be in the control panel? I haven't torn it apart yet, I was looking for suggestions first.

I would take off the bottom access panel and check your heating element first before you spend $$$ on a new control board, you might find the problem there.
If you can't access your heating element from the front, then you will likely need to uninstall it to get at it.
I would ohm your heating element out, it should be about 10-30 ohms, then ohm it to your frame ground, if it has continuity, then you found the problem.
