I have a Dacor duel feul range, RSD30. The door will not lock/stay locked and therefore I can't use the self cleaner. I actually have never been able to use it . To lock it I have to hold the door closed with some force while pushing the self-clean button. It will then lock for about 30 seconds, and then open back up and displays a failure message. Also, the door has never seemed to close tightly. Nothing is blocking it, if anything the seal seems to be to big, or the hinges aren't springing tight enough. Any suggestions? Thanks in advance.

You mentioned a failure code. Probally F8 if it is follow below instructions. The F8 is a door lock error and it is usually an indication that the door latch has failed, or the wiring to the latch has failed. You can remove the grill that surrounds the latch and check both switches for continuity in the on and off positions as well as the motor for resistance. It is usually one of the switches that fails preventing the control board from knowing when then door is locked. Since this has been going on since the beginning, check for a loose or broken wires at the latch.

It looks like the motor to me, it looks like it was stuck part way closed. It gets power just doesn't move. I just ordered the motor that should fix half the problem.

It might fix all your problems. You said it was "stuck part way closed" This could have prevented the door from closing all the way.
